Buy Peonies at the Vermont Flower Farm

We have grown peonies for as long as we remember, having grown up in a time when every farm in our communities had them planted in gardens, by the house, and by the barns. Peonies were like hollyhocks, you always expected to see them…and you usually did. At the flower farm we always offered ten or twelve varieties that were in demand. Typically we heard that gardeners want large flowered peonies, doubles, singles, fragrant flowers, early bloomers, or later bloomers. We heard tales of how difficult a plant they are to grow, how they must have ants to produce flowers, and how they can only be planted in the fall. We have been on a mission since day one to provide good planting and care information and clear up some of the misconceptions. We’re getting there!

In the meantime, as we provide more information to more gardeners and as we begin to develop a peony garden at the flower farm, we are broadening what we offer. During summer 2023 we will offer +28 varieties. All our plants will be available in 1200 size (3 gallon) peony pots ready to make an easy transition to your garden all summer long.  Mail order will not be available for any peonies. Herbaceous peonies are priced at $32 per pot unless otherwise marked. Itoh peonies are individually priced with most at $65. Here is a list of what we offer at the farm for 2023.
