Hosta Spartacus was registered in 2007 by Hans Hansen– I believe when he was working at Shady Oaks. It is said to be a sport of Sea Gulf Stream which was the effort of Mark Zillis, Mildred Seaver and Alex Malloy. They registered Sea Gulf Stream in 1999. The large, dark green heart-shaped leaves have a rippled, narrow yellow edge. The tall scapes have pale lavender blooms. The edge gives a clean-cut appearance. The picture is from Walters Gardens taken from their wholesale site where they provide photography for wholesalers. We should have our own picture by 2024.
