Hosta Guacamole
Bob Solberg 1999. A ‘Fragrant Bouquet’ sport. A medium to large hosta, 11″ X 9″ very shiny leaves, apple-green in the spring, then golden-chartruese center with dark green margins and ending later in summer with color intensity based up amount of light where located. We have a specimen in our display garden on the right entering the bottom walkway from the east (overhead Hosta sign). The huge white flowers on 32″-36″ scapes are extremely fragrant to the point that you’ll pick up more than a hint of fragrance long before you reach the plant. Sometimes people will not be able to confirm the plant but will ask “I must have the fragrant one I smell but can’t locate. Help!!” It’s fair because Holy Mole and Fragrant Bouquet are nearby.
