Mildred Seaver 1981. Small hosta, lanceolate-shaped, darker but dull green, wavy margin, 32″ red-streaked scapes with purple flowers. A ‘Sea Sprite’ seedling. This is a vigorous grower and that applies to the scapes, seed pods and seed production. It’s nice to have such abundant fall blooms in a bright purple….but….the seed production and high germination rate can result in lots of new plants. I am hoping that plants in the display garden will regenerate through all the silt during summer 2025. Last year we tried to find multiple display plants but with limited success. …but…..as stated…..the high germination rate should manifest itself this spring. Ask us in June.
