Kenji Watanabe 1996. A very large hosta, thick-leaved, blue-green with a yellow-cream edge. Named after the Japanese town of Sugae (pronounced suh-ga-eh). Winner of several awards including the President’s Exhibitor Trophy, the Benedict Award, the Alabama Hosta Society Award, and the Alex Summers Distinguished Merit Hosta Award. This very popular hosta has produced over 80 sports including Ivory Coast, Liberty and Majesty which we grow. We have chosen to concentrate on sales of Liberty but have Ivory Coast and Majesty available for a look-see in the display garden. Sagae is always a great seller here!
