Hosta Revolution

Gert van Eijk-Bos/Walters Gardens 2000. A sport of Loyalist that we used to grow in the early days when Minuteman and Patriot were popular as well as Loyalist and Independence. George gave up on Revolution when his tissue culture purchases kept reverting. The dark green leaves had creamy white centers that were speckled with light green in the spring–say June– and then they turned dark green. Lavender flowers formed on 32″ light green to white scapes. There is one plant left in the hosta display garden that is extremely dark green–almost black. We have never sold any and need to dig and divide it and get it into propagation. Not for sale but ask George to see it. Presumably, the current day Revolution grows as intended.
