Hosta Lucy Vitols

Mildred Seaver 1989. A medium-large hosta of unknown origin. Corrugated, puckered, heavily textured leaves with golden-yellow-green interiors and dark green borders. 16″-18″ tall scapes with pale lavender flowers. “Unknown origin” is not a bad thing at all, but it’s especially significant with Mildred Seaver registrations. Mildred was skilled at looking underneath hosta and scouting out the seedlings. She had an eye for the ones that needed to be grown out and an eye for those that needed to be headed for the compost pile. I forget the actual numbers now but she registered +400 hostas and the majority she found this way. Her explanation that I was fortunate to be able to attend.
