Hosta Hans is a wonderful medium to large hosta with an interesting origin.  Tony Avent, owner of Plant Delights Nursery in Raleigh, North Carolina is the originator. It’s an unregistered sport of Andrew which in turn is a 2006 registration by Hans Hansen from Blue Mammoth.  Hosta Hans has a cream center with a blue-green edge. It has pointed, twisted leaves with a green pattern between the blue green edges. Clumps are in the 32-36″ diameter range and creamy-pale yellow scapes are about 20″ tall and carry pale lavender blooms. The picture we use here is from Walters Gardens, Zeeland, Michigan.
