Hosta Green Piecrust
Frances Williams/AHS 1986. Origin unknown. From a seedling found in 1951. Medium green, cordate leaves with a distinct piecrust margin and pointed, twisted tips. Leaves are 15″ X 11″. 40″ tall scapes with white flowers. A seedling that we grow for display is ‘Sea Drift’ by Mildred Seaver, 1978. News, possibly sad news about Green Piecrust and Sea Drift…..the area in our display garden/propagation area was covered in 2-3 feet of silt as +20 feet of water flowed by. We tried to locate these two hostas last summer and fall but it was to no available, That doesn’t mean they are not there, could mean we didn’t dig deep enough. We won’t know for sure until this July. In the meantime, I am leaving this online. If these are hostas you are looking for, ask when you visit. We’ll update this in July 2024.
