Hosta Golden Friendship

Hideko Gowen 1991. Origin Unknown. Medium to large hosta, upright, cupped and rounded leaves, heavy substance, leaves emerge as chartreuse green, then change to bright golden. Backside of leaves has a whiter appearance due to waxy coating. 22″ tall scapes with light lavender flowers. One of the better yellows. This picture was taken by Bob Axmear, founder of the Hosta Library and the man who helped Vermont Flower Farm get on the map by teaching George to write code. George says he cannot name a more considerate, patient teacher for putting up with him as he built his first site. That process in itself was a “Golden (growing) Friendship.
