Florence Shaw 1978. Tokudama’ x sieboldiana ‘Elegans’. Extra large….some say “huge”—satin blue fading to blue-green with more sun and summer heat. Nicely textured, heavily ribbed, leaf edges curve down. The tiers of leaves give the umbrella appearance /source of the name.
