Hosta Big John $24
Owens ’86. Huge, dark green, heart-shaped, wavy leaves, 18″ X 15″ and downward turning. Flowers are white and fertile. The flowers appear close to the top of the leaves, a trait probably from their sieboldiana heritage. Mature size of 4-5 feet wide. A Eunice Fisher Award winner. A parent of the now world-famous Empress Wu, one of the largest of all current hostas. Because of that genetic relationship to Empress Wu and now the EW sport, Wu-La-La, George speculates that Big John itself has become more popular. Limited availability in 2025. Ask.
