Daylily Red Ribbons
Lenington 1964. 42″-26″ tall scapes. 8″ blooms, red with greenish yellow throat. Evergreen. Diploid. Spider ratio 4.70-1. A Mid-Season bloomer. Three awards from the American Hemerocallis Society. The picture is one I took at Olallie’s in Newfane Vermont in 2000 when I bought starter plants. That’s in southern Vermont and maybe the difference in climate and the Evergreen classification is why this daylily has not been a success with us. It grows tall but bloom production is limited. We grow a row in case it’s asked for. We’d love to see it produce as pictured but since it doesn’t for us we can only say we’ll dig some if you are interested. Be patient. Our “digger” is getting old.
