Darrell Apps 1990. 30″ tall scapes. 5.5″ black-red blooms with a yellow throat and black veining.  Dormant foliage type. Diploid. Handles the sun quite well for being so dark. A mid-season bloomer. Limited availability but potted and also mail order until sold down in early summer 2023.
