Daylily Indian Paintbrush

Greisbach-Klehm 1979. 32″ tall scapes. 5″ red bitone with lighter midribs, yellow throat. Dormant foliage type. Tetraploid. Mid-season bloom. Not an easy color to describe accurately but a great color to add to blues, purples and bright yellows. As for the Vermont wildflower by the same name, if you are prone to allergies, use caution with the Devil’s Paintbrush/Indian Paintbrush (Hieracium aurantiacum) as some folks go into shock with just the touch of one tiny paintbrush bloom. As for this daylily, touch it all you want! None available potted for 2024 but two rows available in the gardens. Ask ahead and we’ll gladly dig.
