Daylily Hot Bronze

(Hager, 1991)  35″ tall scapes, with 5.5″ deep red-orange-bronze blooms with orange throats. Early to Mid-season but a rebloomer. Evergreen, Tetraploid. (Fiesta Brava × Sun’s Face). One of the few Evergreen daylilies we grow and sell, not because they won’t grow here and do well once established but because they typically look terrible in Vermont in the early spring. They begin to grow, get nailed by the cold temps, begin to grow, get frosted again,  then look mushy, etc etc. Hot Bronze does well as a combination with two other commonly available red-orange daylilies that we also sell. Plant it with Alabama Jubilee which blooms first, and Fire King which blooms second,  and then include Hot Bronze because it starts early and reblooms. The three will carry through the season with overlap and you can enjoy slightly different shades of red-orange all season. Really nice! A real attention-getter when planted like this.
