Daylily Head Tide

Barth  1985. 36″ tall, thick, wind-tolerant scapes. 6″ blooms of a pale pink blend with green throat. Tall Angel heritage (Barth 1981). This is an early to mid-season bloomer. Dormant. Tetraploid. The Barths originated in Alna, Maine where Dr. Joseph Barth was a local minister. He also worked in Washington. Dr. Barth’s son Nick has continued the Barth daylily line and the use of names of local people, ocean-related terms such as with this daylily, or also names of indigenous peoples, and geographic names. Barth daylilies are made in New England for New England. Limited numbers of Head Tide are left for sale in 2024 despite a slow 2023 season because it never stopped raining….in fact it was still raining a week before Christmas.
