Daylily Double Pardon Me

The original Pardon Me was released in 1982 by Darryl Apps who has been well known for daylilies with reblooming capabilities.  That daylily came from a cross between an unknown seedling and Little Grapette. Double Pardon Me is covered by plant patent PP22799. The picture we are using comes from Walters Gardens in Zeeland Michigan. The color is the same as the original Pardon Me but instead of 6 tepals, this one has as many as 18 according to Walters.  It’s a midseason bloomer and it will bloom again. The foliage is dormant style, the flowers are fragrant, and the buds are nocturnal in that they open one afternoon and continue open through the next day. Anytime we can add a reblooming daylily to our gardens, we should.
