Daylily Apricot

This daylily is the first recorded hybrid, exhibited in London by George Yeld in 1892. It was awarded a Certificate of Merit the following year. One of the very first to bloom here with very distinct cadmium yellow blooms that have a very unusual bract that wraps around the buds at the end of each scape and forms sort of a sheath that holds the buds upward. Note image. This daylily is of interest to collectors and hybridizers. A vigorous grower about 28-34″ tall over time. Limited availability year to year.
