Peony Scrumdidleyumptious
This is an Itoh peony. It was originated and registered by D.R. Smith in 2002 in Massachusetts. It has always been popular but the name has been a challenge for many to say or spell correctly. The picture I am using here will be replaced in 2023 by my own but in the interim this commonly used and uncredited web picture will serve. This mid-season bloomer is in the 28″ range. The 5″-6″ flowers have light creamy pink petals tapering outward in color. The foliage is dark green and holds through the entire season. The foliage tends to show good disease resistance. In the 22 years it has been on the market I have been surprised not to have seen it more frequently. Limited availability at the farm from July 2023 until sold. Priced the same as all our Itohs.
