During our 2022 growing season we received Hosta Catherine as a substitute for a hosta that was backordered. It is a sport of the very popular Halcyon and was registered by Gerard Heemskerk of the Netherlands. This family business known online as Eurohosta.com specializes in daylilies, hosta and iris. Halcyon has over 35 registered sports and more than 50 progeny so some of the plants appear very close and take a good eye to notice the differences. Catherine to my eye has vague similarity to June. For now, consider this small to medium sized hosta with creamy yellow leaf interior, blue-green edge margin and 20″ scapes with white blooms as a garden addition. It’s available for a loo-see in the display garden. Not available for sale in 2024.
