Bulletproof, registered in 2009 by Mark Zillis/Spring Hill Nursery, is the tetraploid version of Eric Smith’s forever-famous Halcyon from many years earlier. When I first started collecting hostas I noted that about everything written about Halcyon said it was the best ever chalky blue hosta and those compliments continue on today without reservation. Halcyon forms 18″ X 28″ clumps with two-foot tall scapes with pale lavender flowers. It is often mentioned in garden design magazines and books and has an impressive listing of sports, the most famous probably being June.
