Hosta August Moon
Richard Langfelder/Alex Summers 1968/Pete Ruh 1996. Origin: sieboldiana hybrid. Was found by Alex Summers in the Langfelder garden, N.Y. in 1964. It was named by Alex. Later the same hosta was also found in the garden of David Stone, Connecticut. It was labeled “Golden Sieboldiana”. Medium-large hosta, yellow leaves, round, cordate, cupped. Leaves begin in spring as green-yellow and mature to golden yellow. 28″ tall scapes with white flowers. August Moon sports that we grow include Abiqua Moonbeam and September Sun. Progeny we grow include Crested Reef, Glory, Gold Drop, Maui Buttercups, Squash Casserole.
