Daylily Sagamore Bob Pelletier
Britz 1995. Friends Carl and Marlene Harmon of Harmon Hill Farm, Hudson, New Hampshire (harmonhillfarm.com) gave me this daylily as well as Boothbay Harbor Gold knowing that when Vermont Flower Farm opens in the spring, our customers are always looking for plants that will bloom early and erase thoughts of lingering snow and mud season. Thanks, Carl and Marlene as customers do love them! SBP has 22″ tall scapes. 4″ blooms, cream tinted pale yellow with darker yellow halo and lime throat. Dormant. Diploid. Early season bloomer and a rebloomer too so the abundant buds keep opening over July and much of August here. One of the parents is Gentle Shepherd (Yancy 1980) which was recently classified as a Group 2 white daylily, hence the pale yellow we see in Sagamore Bob Pelletier. Nice!
