Darrell Apps 1990. 30″ tall scapes. 5.5″ black-red blooms with a yellow throat and black veining.  Dormant foliage type. Diploid. Handles the sun quite well for being so dark. A mid-season bloomer. Limited availability but some potted, some field dug. You’d know this was an Apps hybrid by the way it blooms.
