Oakes 1988. 28″-30″ tall scape. 5.5″ gold, fragrant bloom with a green throat. Striking from a distance. Dormant foliage type. Tetraploid. Mid-Season on into Late Season bloom. Some say this looks similar to Starstruck. The registrations on the two are 2 years apart, they are later bloomers, close to the same size and also fragrant. George doesn’t think the color is quite the same. Some potted, some field dug upon request.
