Daylily Kwanso
Kwanso is one of the double flowering daylilies first noted in Japan in 1712 but having a long prior history including in America during colonial times. The double, orangey-red blooms are obvious although exhibiting a shorter than average bloom time of less than a full day. They are a vigorous grower which displeases some but in the correct location, especially one with damp soil, they provide interest and a historical presence. George has grown the variegated Kwanso flore-pleno but his luck has it always reverting to green leaves in 3-4 years. Mid summer. 38″
